Sir Luke Award Presentation

In late November 2015, Luke Clark of Oswald®, one of the nation’s largest independent insurance and risk management firms, was awarded the Paladin by Steve Hook, VP of Business Development at Paladina Health.  The award was given in recognition of Mr. Clark’s contributions and partnership in securing a Direct Primary Care Medical Home agreement that is structured to expand to multiple employers in the Cleveland, Ohio marketplace over the next several years. The first employer to adopt the program will be Cleveland-based Lincoln Electric with others soon to follow.

Paladina is derived from the word paladin, which translates to champion or defender of a noble cause.  At Paladina Health, our noble cause is positively impacting the health and well-being of our patients and changing the primary care landscape as a whole.

The ceremony of being awarded a Paladin also includes being duly knighted, a tradition that dates back to medieval times when an inductee would be dubbed on the shoulders with a sword by the leader of the local clan.  In keeping with tradition, Oswald® CEO, Bob Klonk dubbed Mr. Clark and pronounced that “from this day forward ye be known as Sir Luke, as defender of the weak and upholder of the character virtues of compassion, loyalty, generosity, and truthfulness.  And above all, help other clients understand how they can also achieve differentiated results through Paladina Health ― superior patient experience, improved health measures, and lower overall healthcare costs.”   Congratulations Sir Luke and thank you for doing your part in helping us to achieve our mission of transforming primary care in America!
